TrisonicaTM Mini Update
Have you ever wondered how accurate manufacturer's specs are? We did, and we decided to test one of our leading products, the TriSonicaTM Mini, and verify how accurate its wind speed measurements are. You might be surprised as to what we discovered. We took two of the units off the shelf, calibrated them per the instructions in the manual, and sent them to a certified lab for measurement. It turns out that the results of the lab test showed the measurements are much better than we had originally calculated. It says the accuracy of the horizontal measurements are +/- 0.106 m/s. If you would like to see a copy of the test results, click here... info16@apptech.com and we will send you a copy by e-mail.
The newest software for the TriSonicaTM Mini has a few improvements.

An ATI Sonic AnemometerA specially designed ATI Sonic Anemometer, to fit their application, was used in a cloud chamber at Michigan Tech and its results are sown in a paper, part of which are shown here and more given in the link listed below. Observation of a link between energy dissipation rate and oscillation frequency of the large-scale circulation in dry and moist Rayleigh-Bénard turbulence. Dennis Niedermeier, Kelken Chang, Will Cantrell, Kamal Kant Chandrakar, David Ciochetto, and Raymond A. Shaw Phys. Rev. Fluids 3, 083501 – Published 15 August 2018
Images (a) Sketch of the cloud chamber with one door being open and the cylindrical thermal panel being in place [12]. (b) Picture of the instrumentation inside the cylinder. The IR absorption hygrometer, the sonic anemometer, and the thermistor array were placed such that the distance between the instruments is as small as possible in order to avoid cross influence between the instruments but to ensure possible cross correlations.

For The Fun Of It
THESE COMMENTS WERE TAKEN OFF ACTUAL POLICE CAR VIDEOS: - You know, stop lights don’t come any redder than the one you just went through.
- If you run, you’ll only go to jail tired. - You don’t know how fast you were going? I guess that means I can write anything I want to on the ticket, huh. - Warning! You want a warning? OK, I’m warning you not to do that again or I’ll give you another ticket. - The answer to this last question will determine whether you are drunk or not. Was Mickey Mouse a cat or a dog? - No sir, we don’t have quotas anymore. We used to, but now we’re allowed to write as many tickets as we can. - In God we trust, all others we run through NCIC. - You didn’t think we give pretty women tickets? You’re right, we don’t, sign here. - How big were those "two beers" you said you had? - Can you run faster than 1200 feet per second? Because that's the speed of the bullet that'll be chasing you. - Relax, the handcuffs are tight because they're new. They'll stretch after you wear them a while. - Yes, sir, you can talk to the shift supervisor, but I don't think it will help. Oh, did I mention that I'm the shift supervisor? |
